The Silver Teal Apt is a beautiful 2DBr Apartment on the upper floors of our Townhouse at Devon Place on The Crescent. Available throughout the year for short Stays the Apt is Perfect for International visitors coming into Galway – chill back and get busy with the Town Center and heritage Trips & Tours to serene, beautiful Connemara, the West of Ireland and The Burren. Also perfect for professionals relocating to Galway looking for a trustable town-centre home to settle into quickly and go about business with ease. 2 double bedrooms, sleeping 4+ adults, the Apartment is fully furnished to top quality standard.
To the front is the stylish Sitting Room with dining table, overlooking a rare bird sanctuary just across. Separate spacious Kitchen is fully fitted (full oven & stove top, fridge, dishwasher, full complement of glassware, dining ware, cutlery, utensils, serving dishes & servers) so you can enjoy home-cooking any time you like. Deeply comfortable sofas, 40″ TV, traditional Irish fireplace and small library of interesting books in place for your relaxation. A Master bedroom with Superking bed is at front of the Apt, while Bedroom #2 at back has two single beds or these set as a California Kingbed. A landing and small stairs leads down to two full Bathrooms, Utility Room & Hotpress, each with Walk-in Shower, WC & WHB, and one with full Washing Machine & separate Dryer.

Silver Teal takes the ‘Silver’ part of its name from this Townhouse built in the mid-1800s and called ‘Silver Acre’. With a lovely small original woodland just across the street – home to a variety of nesting birds – herons, teals, and grouse in the past would you believe, the Apartment overlooks this rare town woodland, where only 100 years ago one of Galway’s remaining farms still operated. Can you imagine it – this area was regarded as ‘out in the country’ then! So, it’s special to continue the name into the 21st century.
The Silver Teal itself is a delight to return to after a day’s outings or work. Or returned from soaking up fresh airs at Salthill & Blackrock after a swim in the Atlantic, a fabulous run, a long cycle or wonderful long walk. So easy to refresh and head into Town – just a 2-min stroll down along Sea Road. Just there, stop into Ernie’s – a wonderful local gourmet shop, or pop into the Crane Bar for a fresh glass of Guinness and if the time is right, you might catch a live music session. From there to the vibrant Monroe’s Quarter of the two Dominic Streets/Quay Street/Spanish Arch quarters in flow with people. This is the heartland of many excellent restaurants, traditional Irish pubs & live music, cafes, tea-rooms, many charming shops, and an abundance of people out & about taking the fresh air or catching up with friends.
