The Silver Heron Apt is named after the original Townhouse built in the mid-1800s and called ‘Silver Acre’. With a lovely small original woodland just across the street, home to a variety of rare nesting birds – herons, teals, and grouse in the past would you believe, we have used this to extend the name to the lovely Silver Heron Apt which looks out on this rare town woodland. The apartment is a delight to return to after a day’s outings or work – fresh air at Salthill is just 5-mins away for a swim in the Atlantic, a fabulous run, a steady cycle or a wonderful walk. Or head into Town – just a 2-min stroll along Sea Road to Ernie’s – a wonderful local gourmet shop, or to the Crane Bar for a fresh glass of Guinness and if the time is right, you’ll catch live music there. From there to the vibrant Monroe’s Quarter: Dominic Street/Quay Street/Spanish Arch quarters all in flow of people. This is the heartland of many excellent restaurants, traditional Irish pubs & live music, cafes, tea-rooms, many charming shops, and an abundance of people out & about taking the fresh air or catching up with friends.
